In my maths work shop we learnt how to solve problems by breaking the bigger number up.For example:

we are learning to add Decimals and use them to help us with money.the hard pert was finding out what 100.50 + 100.50 =.
we have been learning to weight things and seeing how muck they weight .The most tricky part is finding out was turning grams into killograms.
